In the summer of 2007, Richard Branson’s new airline VAustralia began serving LAX from Sydney and Brisbane in order to give QANTAS and

other carriers more potential competition on vital trans-Pacific routes.  In the fall of that same year, Branson took delivery of the airline’s first

777-300, a stretched Boeing 777 capable of carrying some 350 passengers.  In October, the delivery aircraft was ferried from Boeing Field in

Seattle to LAX during, unfortunately, several days of pouring rain. Despite the damp conditions, the weather did not put a damper on the

party and the celebrations were fruitful, to say the least.  To date (as of 2015), this service is still fruitfully continuing. Enjoy the images and

please email if you have specific publication needs for any particular aircraft or scene.
